Before 2017 assembly elections there were 42 Patel MLAs. Both BJP and Congress danced around Patel community and hardik patel called the shots. Guided by their sheer lust of political power both Alpesh and Mevani succumbed to Congress agenda and ultimately they all contributed to the political marginalisation of Muslims in Gujarat. And now Patels have 47 MLAs and Muslims have only three though they are numerically at par with patels.
